This guide outlines the detailed steps required to add an ePrescription in iClinic, covering patient selection, prescription entry, pharmacy selection, and medication list management.
2. Accessing the Waiting Room
- Log In: Sign in to your iClinic account.
- Navigate to the Waiting Room: There are three ways to access the waiting room:
- Click on the Waiting Room Icon on the left-hand side.
- Select Waiting Room under the CCM and RPM modules.
- Click the Waiting Room Tab from the dashboard.
3. Selecting a Patient
- Choose the Patient: In the waiting room, click on the patient you wish to prescribe medication for.
- Open Office Visit: This action will open the patient’s office visit screen.
4. Adding a New Prescription
- Access the Prescription Section:
- Click on the Prescription Section within the office visit.
- Click New to open the RX Editor.
- Search for Medication:
- Type the name of the medication in the search bar.
- Press Enter on your keyboard.
- From the search results, double-click the medication that best matches your prescription.
- Configure Prescription Details:
- Recommended SIG: Click the dropdown and select an appropriate SIG.
- Quantity and Qualifier: Choose the correct quantity and qualifier.
- Tip: If you fill out the Day’s Supply section, the quantity will auto-populate accordingly.
- Save to My Drug List (Optional):
- Check the box "Save to My Drug List" if you want to easily access this medication in the future.
- Save Prescription:
- Click Save RX to confirm the prescription.
5. Sending the ePrescription
- Verify the Prescription:
- Back in the prescription section, a Green F may appear to the left of the medication, indicating a formulary check against the patient’s insurance.
- Refresh for Status:
- Click Refresh until a green square appears, indicating the prescription is ready to be sent.
- Select Prescription for Sending:
- Place a Checkmark next to the medication you wish to send.
- Click Send eRX.
- Select the Patient’s Pharmacy:
- In the Send eRX Box, choose the patient’s preferred pharmacy.
- If no default pharmacy is saved, select one manually.
- In the Send eRX Box, choose the patient’s preferred pharmacy.
- Confirm Sending:
- Click Send.
- A confirmation message in blue will appear, indicating the medication was sent successfully.
6. Managing the Active Medication List
- Add to Active Medication List:
- Place a Checkmark next to the prescribed medication.
- Click Add to Medication List to update the patient’s active medication profile.
7. Creating Prescription Templates
- Select Medications:
- Place a Checkmark next to each medication you’d like to include in a template.
- Save as Template:
- Click Save as Template.
- Enter a custom Template Name in the pop-up box.
- Click Save.
8. Using Prescription Templates
- Apply a Template:
- In the prescription section, find the Template Dropdown under My Drug List.
- Select the desired template.
- The prescription section will automatically populate with medications from the chosen template.
9. Creating Custom SIGs
- Edit SIG:
- If the desired SIG isn’t available, click Edit next to the SIG dropdown.
- Enter SIG Details:
- Day Supply: Fill in the appropriate number.
- Qualifier: Select from the dropdown list.
- Route and Frequency: Enter the administration route and frequency.
- Time Frame: Specify hours, days, or weeks.
- Customizing SIG Description:
- After configuring the SIG, check the DAW Box if needed.
- Manually edit the SIG Description for custom wording.
- Save Custom SIG:
- Check Save to My Drug List if you wish to reuse this SIG.
- Click Save eRX.
